The Pastor’s Word – Embrace Diversity
Category : Uncategorized
I listened to a Rabbi speak on how we can enter this very peculiar time in our nation’s history without fear. One of the several suggestions he made was the need to embrace people not like us because they help us grow. This Rabbi believes that because we are social people, we first of all need each other and secondly can learn from someone different from us.
Interestingly, my devotion that same morning was on how Peninah caused Hannah to kick up her prayer life a notch (1Sa 1-18). A friend of mine says, “Leave my Judas alone; they’re working out destiny and purpose in my life!”
Sometimes those different from us strike a chord that doesn’t sound or feel right, but all things can be turned around for our good. Remember Joseph’s story (Gen 50:20). So, what is this leadership, your Peninah or Judas teaching you? What is it causing you to do? If your prayer life is increasing, then God be praised!
